Socialist Commonwealth
Establishing Nation
To the governments of: The Federation @The Federation ; Republic of Tianlong @Imimoya ; Radilo @Radilo
As the Pressburg Pact pursues an increasingly aggressive foreign policy across the region of the Meridian, the Commonwealth of Socialist Council Republics feels there is common cause between our nations, but also an urgent need to coordinate their response, as recent disagreements over our reaction to the Tarusan blockade of Ebria have shown. All of our nations walk the same tightrope, trying to avert a potentially desastrous escalation to extinction level global war without giving in to reactionary aggression.
Our government had been pleased with the Tarusan decision to blockade Ebria, because it felt it represented a great miscalculation on the behalf of the Tzardom. Ever since the start of the civil war, the reactionary forces in Ebria had been decidedly on the backfoot and without outside intervention, will lose to the Republican forces who command a greater fraction of the pre-war military, can muster more men, access a greater industrial base and enjoy greater public support. The Tarusan decision, after a tense standoff over a potential military invasion out of Csengia, thus presented a Tarusan withdrawal from such outright intervention.
It is our governments opinion that, by joining such a blockade and ensuring the Tarusans do not selectively enforce it on merely supporters of the Republican cause, we can ensure a Republican victory. Meanwhile, challenging the blockade could cause an incident that would give the Tarusans the necessary pretext for further escalation and potential invasion by land. This must be averted.
We would thus implore your governments not to challenge the blockade, to instead formally join it and turn this Tarusan ploy into a multinational effort at containment - an effort that will effectly cut off the Alfonsists only path to victory in the Ebrian civil war and ensure a Republican victory.
Containing the Ebrian war will also limit the Tarusan options in support of their Pelasgian allies and that nations war of aggression against Radilo. It is this governments sincerest hope that it is not perceived as patronising when it advises your governments to focus on the Aresuran front instead of opening another one by escalating the Ebrian civil war into an open war involving the Pressburg Pact. While the Commonwealth can, at this time, not commit to openly supporting the Radilan efforts, we would be amenable to providing covert support in ways the Radilan government deems fit.
