Given the kerfuffle on the @San Jose & @Radilo project I wanted to clarify a major point that was brought up by @Remuria:
These two players did plan their project off board and then presented it in a world building thread and a map application. Such arrangements are as old as PMs, IRC, and now discord. A private arrangement means nothing until its on the board, obviously, and once it's posted that is the time to challenge . . . But characterizing pre-planning a post or application as inherently wrong is ridiculous.
Avenues of challenging exist but are perhaps not obvious. One could message the mapmaker or staff, but given much of the staff either plays or is inactive that's not always easiest (understandable). Alternatively you could start a thread discussion in this open forum called the Map Room . . . Like this thread is. But you would want to rationalize your objections and not use quitting as an immediate chip on the table.
I find some things personally troubling about what Radilo and San Jose are doing, but not so much that I would challenge it, but if I did it would go something like this:
In this case though: there needs to be explained reasons why this particular application will impact continuity or make the game difficult or "un-fun" to play because Radilo and Jose are sharing duties. @Remuria was right to say they'd walk it off for a few days. Before I saw all of this I told Jose to maybe start the RP itself and be sure before account name changing for a week. I did not guess a week ago that San Jose would go to siesta mode or dormant for this while it was churning out posts, so stepping away and thinking about things before switching or saying you're going to quit can be helpful.

I find some things personally troubling about what Radilo and San Jose are doing, but not so much that I would challenge it, but if I did it would go something like this:
- San Jose the nation was supposed to on the map cede islands to Radilo anyways and they would be regional neighbors. If they wanted to RP together this was already in the works and just needed to be reflected on the map. There are so many changes going on there already prior to this that it's impossible to keep up with . . So "please, one at a time guys?"
- I like the idea of two players working on one nation together, however, Radilo is already a several island nation - combining this tandem player event with new colonies or expansion on the map is an unproven double dip. Why wouldn't they play with what they already have first to see if it works?
- If I were Remuria or a player more directly impacted I would also worry that since Jose as a player does change or move on a lot, I am actually just agreeing or watching Radilo the nation and player expand. If Jose disappears from the project in a few months then I am again just dealing with Radilo and none of that other stuff mattered.
